Isaac Brenman

My name is Isaac. I’m from Brooklyn New York. I was born in Brooklyn and I still live there. I turn 15 on November 18. I have two sisters; one is 16 and the other one is 6. My dog is 9 and a half. She is a puppy. Her name is Vega star. She is named after Tim Vega. He was a famous artist!  In my free time I like to make cool thing out of trash. My mom calls these projects trash but I find it fun. I use duck tape and super glue and sometimes my hands get stuck together; that is not fun.

One time, my best friend from home, and I were hanging out in the park and I was on a tricycle. I went down a big, curvy hill and I hit a huge piece of wood and did a front flip. Then I stopped all of the sudden and flew off the tricycle onto the ground.

I like to think of myself as an abstract artist. I am a Jew and I have had my bar mitzvah, which in Judaism means I am an adult, and that is a big deal in Judaism. It took a lot of practice to get there, but everyone in my family did it so they helped me get there. In the end the pay off was the big party. All of my close friends there so we played poker, wore sailor hats, ate candy, and drank coke. It was a blast.

I want to hike the whole Appalachian Trail one day with my dad.

Alex Wilds

          My name is Alex Wilds and I am a white, 15 year old, male that lives in Louisburg North Carolina. I have many good friends in Louisburg most live in my neighborhood. I am going to the SOAR academy in the mountains of North Carolina near Waynesville. I have only lived in one place all my life. I am adopted because my birth parents were too young to take care of me. My favorite subject is war (mostly WW2 & Vietnam).

            My family that I live with is made up of mom, dad, sister, and me. My mom Fern is 55 years old and works at a museum. My dad Mitch is 55 years old and works for the state. My sister is 10 years old and can’t work. I love them because they are the family I live with.

            My birth family lives in Texas and I have only seen them twice in the last 10 years. My birth mom Vanessa, is a lot like me and we get along really well. My birth dad, Eric looks and is a lot like me and I like him. My sister Elisa is 3 years old and I like her, she has family looks. I don’t know my family well. I went and saw them this summer and they threw a big party for me. I have a big birth family.

            I have had a zoo in my house because my mom worked at a science museum and brought home many animals. My house has had in the past two dogs, two cats, five+ fish, one alligator, two+ turtles, one possum, three+ snakes, ten+ guinea pigs, two+ hamsters, ect. Now I have four pets; three dogs, and a fire belly newt. I have had many pets in my house in my life.

             I play soccer and do martial arts. I also have some hobbies. My hobbles are writing songs because it is a good out for my feelings. I play video games because they are fun. I also like to fidget with legos. I also play paintball and I am really good at it. I like to study war, guns, the history of guns, and the history of war. I like to hang out with friends. I like maps for some reason and like to draw them. I also like to ride bikes.

            I have volunteered at a museum a couple times and worked with my mom. I have helped her a few times at the preschool that my mom also works at. I really want to be a paratrooper in the US army. I want to go to collage so I can become an officer in the paratroopers and get a good education.

            I have two family’s my birth and adoptive family. I have and have had a lot of pets. I play sports and have some hobbies. And I like to learn some things in school like history and writing. I want to join the paratroopers and be an officer. All this stuff is me.

Coley O'Brien

I was born on 12/2/94and I am 15 years old.  I like hunting, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, hiking and flying with my step dad in his plane.

            I have been to ten different countries and 40 states. I can speak a little French, German, Chinese, and Spanish.  I have 2 brothers and 1 sister.  I live in Potomac, MD. I  have 3 dogs and they are AWESOME.

I am planning to go to Stanford and get me doctorate in veterinary medicine.  I am going to climb Mount Everest before I go to college. 

I like history and science in school.

Dustin Rowe Kenney

                  Hello I am Dustin Rowe-Kenney and I am 13 yrs old. Let me tell you a little bit of my interests that I have. I love to study Greek mythology. When I grow up I want to be a Greek mythologist and get a degree in mythology in Greece. I also like Roman mythology, but not as much as Greek mythology.

Some of my hobbies are reading books on Greek mythology and the Percy Jackson books series. I also love to write. My parents say it is a gift but it is nothing special. I don’t think it is anyway. I am amazing at video games, mostly on a ps2 and ps3. I also like to hang out with my friends. When it’s during school I will hang with them on the weekends, if not I hang with them during the weekdays too. We hang out a lot, funny huh?

I was born in Gainesville, Florida. I have been living there for 13 years. Some of the traits that I have are that I am happy at times when people treat me with respect then they get treated with respect. Some other traits that I have are that I can be very violent at times so if you talk bad about me, my family, touch me, or my sister, I will freak and it can get bad. Other than that I am fun and very cool to hang out with unless you make me mad, then we are not hanging around anymore.

I have only lived in Florida. Places that I have traveled are all around the country.

Some interesting facts about me are that I have sprained my ankle, I have sprained both of my legs, I have twisted my ankle, and I got into a fight with someone who made fun of my family.

I do a lot of sports. I skate, I swim, I play basketball, I used to play tee ball, and I play football with friends. My religion is Greek. I believe in the Greek gods and goddesses. I think that it is really cool and it is so awesome! I love Greece.  I want to live in Athens and I want to see the Parthenon, and live in Greece for two or three years and learn their culture and see the temples and all of that cool stuff. I want to learn more about the Greek gods and goddesses of Greece.

My mom owns a Coffee shop in Gainesville, Florida. It is really cool because I don’t have to pay for my drinks or snacks and I can go behind the counter. My dad works with a business that makes drones for the military. It’s really cool. I live with both of my parents and my so awesome, 7 year old sister.

The pets that I have are 3 cats, 1 fish, and a bearded dragon. My gender is male. The goals I have are that I want to finish loosing the weight that I found, and I am really looking forward to it. I also want to make friends.

Evan Harr's biography

Hello my name is Evan Harr and I am 16 years old. I live with my mom, dad, sister, and dog. My sister’s name is Nicole, and she is 10 years old. My dad’s name is Jim, and he works as a vice president of purchasing at Ingram Micro. My mom’s name is Michele, and she works with me and my sister at home. Last but not least is my dog, Bella, and she brings a lot of fun to the family.

We live in the state of California, in Orange County. Corona Del Mar high school is down the street from my house. Everyday life includes hanging out with friends, watching T.V., and playing video games. I also like to skateboard and play soccer once in a while.

I have many different interests, and one includes the religion of Christianity. I am also interested in traveling to Hawaii, since I have been there many times. I have also been to Mexico, Canada, and the Carribean. These places are very unique and fun to visit, especially on a cruise boat.

In the future, I would like to work with animals as a job, like maybe being a veterinarian. This is because I enjoy animals very much, and it is always nice to help out an animal in need. I would have to go to college first to get the education needed to become a vet, which takes a very long time.

Overall, I have very many expectations going on in my life. The many different things I like to do give me a very good variety of things to do. I enjoy what I do and I hope to keep doing it in the future after my time here at SOAR.

kyle nystrom

My name is Kyle Nystrom, and I am a 16 year old boy with ADHD. I live in Los Angeles County in California. I like videogames, and I am currently playing Spectrobes: beyond the portals. I also have samurai warriors 3 on preorder from Amazon. I like most foods, but I don’t like rabbit food (lettuce, tomatoes, celery, things like that). I like to build with Lego’s, and have more then I could ever count. I dislike, and have difficulty doing nothing. I also dislike people who are consistently irrational or offensive. My birthday is December 25. 

My parents live together, and I have a 10 year-old little sister named Kate. Her birthday is December 24. I have 2 dogs, both of which are purebred shelter mutts. We think one is a Siberian husky/German shepherd mix, and we think the other one is a terra-poo. Both my parents are computer engineers.

My parents never taught me any religion, but I am an aethiest. I don’t believe in a higher power that governs over everything, simply because I don’t find it to be logical. Everything’s made of smaller, weaker things. Even humans are made of cells and molecules, and these molecules are made of atoms. By my logic, this means that an almighty being wouldn’t be our origin, but our future.

In the future I want to be a psychologist because my psychologist has helped me so much, I wouldn’t still be around if it wasn’t for his help. I want to be able to help people with my job. Also, I think I could be better at helping ADHD kids because I’ve been there and I really do know what it’s like.

This semester is going to be difficult pretty much no matter what happens, but I think I know what I’ve got to do to make it. That’s pretty much all I have to say. I have nothing else of any importance to put in this biography, goodbye.

tristan's bio

My name is Tristan L Carroll. I was born on the twenty-ninth of January. I am currently 14 and getting older with every minute. I am an only child who grew up on the streets of Long Island. I love to play airsoft at Cousins paintball in Long Island, hike, mountain bike, rock climb, fish, and especially enjoy going white water rafting.

I have three pets. One is a Cairn terrier named McGyver. I also have another dog which is a standard poodle named Mugzzy, and a fish. My cairn terrier was a rescue .He started off at a puppy mill and was adopted along with a bulldog by another owner. He kept getting into fights with the other dog, so he went to a kill shelter. Then he was adopted again, but was left outside, so he ended up at another kill shelter. Then there was a change in his little life. Cornel potter rescue organization saved him and he ended up at a foster home in Georgia for a couple months. His original name is Colbare. For the couple months my mom and I had been looking at him, I new his name would be McGyver. The other dog, Mugzzy we got at a puppy store!

When I get older I want to go to a NOLS wilderness medicine program and then hopefully get into a good college to get a doctorate to become a paramedic. After a few years of being a paramedic I want join the air force to be come a Para jumper or become an engineer for the military! Then with the money I have left over from paying bills, I would like to help my mom buy a bmw suv. I know that sounds kinda cheesy but that’s what I want to do.

Alec Thompson Bio

Hi my name is Alec Thompson. This is my second SOAR Academy semester this year. I was here this spring for my first semester. In the spring I loved traveling to the Florida Keys and Belize, and being able to go scuba diving. I got my open water diving license while I was in the Florida Keys. In Belize I found a conch shell. I love that shell.

I was born in Kalamazoo Michigan on October 22, 1994 and lived there for two years. That is where my mom and dad met and were married. I then moved to Kansas and have lived there for the past 13 years with my three younger brothers, my mom and my dad. My mother’s name is Susan and my father’s name is David. My 12-year-old brother is Caleb. He was born on October 23,1997, which is the day after my birthday. We have a close birthday. He wants to be an architect. My 10-year-old brother is Luke. He is a writer/artist and has been writing since he was young. Then comes the big surprise, my six-year-old brother named Joel. I am 10 years older than him. He doesn’t know what he wants to be yet. I will be 16 in October this year at SOAR. I hope it will be fun.

One of my hobbies is building Lego’s with my brothers. We have created many things. We created a battlefield and made some movies, well we tried to. We also used play dough to eat the Lego people and made a video of it. I have one dog-named OJ, one cat named Bella and one Guinea Pig named Snackers. I love to play football with friends all season long. We even play in snow and ice as long as we have warm clothes on. I also love playing soccer with them. We play mostly during summer and the fall. That is about all I can tell you about me.
