I am having a great time here at SOAR.
For example we went on a 14 day hike in the Shenandoah National Park and I fell at least 7 times, all in which were with a 40 to 60 pound pack on.
We saw wild coyotes, mostly because Dustin and I were howling and then all we hear is a whole pack of coyotes howl back at us. Then the next day Nat and I went on a solo hike and I saw a bear while on that hike. I also met this hiker who was named hit man. My trail name is puma. We even got to stay in a cabin along with taking showers. That was a nice treat. Then on the last day Sophie hiked some extra miles so that we didn't have to hike the full 8 miles that day. We walked to a road and saw Sophie in our van but at first we thought that it was a trick, but it wasn't! That’s how I remember things!

Hi Tristan! Pumas and Coyotes and Bears, Oh My! The only thing missing is Toto, but he's here with me. MacGyver is so jealous...he says all he gets to chase is squirrels. LOL. I hope you're using all your energy & smarts to bring about positive results, especially in stressful situations. Think like the Cadet you are, and put all your training to use - these situations on the trail are real. I know you can do it! I miss you and love you! Mom XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Tristan, We are all soooooo proud of you and your Aunt Dawn, Gregory, Amanda, Jacqueline and Mugzzy miss you sooooooo much. We can't wait to see you at Christmas time. Grandma & Pa are coming up and we are going to have a blast! All of us are going to NYC to see The Christmas Show @ Rockefellar Center. Hang in there Trist even though you are cold!!!! Your MaMa misses you sooooo much but is s00000 happy that you are doing fine. Greg is hangin' in there at The Stony Brook School and says it is very challenging. Well you and Greg are really being challenged! Your mom and I say, "Whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger." Well we love you and will see you in December.
